Glamis Sand Dunes Elopement Styled Shoot

GUYS!!! I want to tell you all about this amazing Elopement styled shoot that my friend Lauren and I created together. I also want to tell some of you other photographers what it was like to plan a collaboration with other vendors without a planner or coordinator!!! This was definitely one of my favorite sessions ever, I mean LOOK AT THE DUNES!!!

Let's start off with how it all started. My friend Lauren Turner and I love passion projects. We had just done a few styled shoots in Utah (WHICH IS SO BEAUTIFUL) and wanted another place to inspire us, especially in January which a slower month for some of us photographers. So we decided to plan a styled shoot out in Glamis.

We contacted all of our vendors, and let me tell you the vendors that ended up a part of this amazing shoot were SO AMAZING!!! They were all so so sweet. One thing to think about is to find vendors whose work goes well with what your vision is. So we created a mood board/vision board for what we were looking for. That way the vendors knew exactly what we were looking for and we were all on the same page. I was honestly really surprised that all the vendors were very cooperative and wanted to just express themselves into this shoot. They really are amazing.

We reached out to people we knew of, people that inspired us, and people we thought were the perfect fit for each of these roles. We wanted this to be intimate, fun, romantic, and just magical!! It was just that.

The day of, we got up early, I drove down to San Diego, and we drank mimosas, ate cinnamon rolls, and got the models all dolled up. We wanted each of our vendors and models to feel appreciated and loved because they were all doing such an amazing job. They each had some freedom of what they thought looked best, but within our vision board and it came out so perfectly. When the models were all ready to go we hopped in our cars and drove out to glamis.

When going to Glamis there are a few things to note:

1. You cannot set anything up

2. Parking is limited by space and time

3. People are driving their dune buggies everywhere

4. It. Is. Windy.

You have to keep these things in mind. So when you get there to try to bring the least amount of cars and also be prepared to just hop out and get started!! The models were so fun to work with and I loved every second of this shoot with them!
